We aim to be transparent about any fees that may apply when making a payment at this event. This surcharge is applied by the supplier of the terminals, not by the Taste of Summer.
Card Payment Surcharge Rates
The following surcharge rates apply to card payments at this event:
EFTPOS (Debit): 0.00%
Visa (Credit & Debit): 1.50% (including GST)
Mastercard (Credit & Debit): 1.50% (including GST)
American Express (Credit): 1.80% (including GST)
Note: To access the EFTPOS 0.00% rate, you may need to insert your card and select EFTPOS SAV or EFTPOS CHQ when prompted.
Why is there a surcharge?
Some card payments incur a processing fee charged by our payment provider. This fee relates to the cost of payment infrastructure and transaction processing required to securely accept card payments.
Can the surcharge be avoided?
Yes. In many cases, the surcharge can be avoided by inserting your card rather than using contactless or tap-and-go payment methods. The payment terminal will indicate the available options.
